Hit Streak Now at 25 for Ploid Thursday, July 25th , 2058 Mad Popes first baseman Unem Ploid has extended his hitting streak to 25 games. He went 2-for-4 in today's game against the Madison Wolves. Sacramento won the ballgame 6-2. "Got a hit and a win," he said later. "OK, I'll take it." Unem Ploid singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th and hit a three-run home run off José Díaz in the 7th. During the current season Ploid is batting at a .366 clip with 8 home runs and 45 RBIs. He has played in 98 games and scored 79 times. |
