 | Long Beach Surfers Ship Sharp to Omaha Thursday, August 17th, 2045 In an effort to add some depth to its roster, the Long Beach Surfers have swapped 26-year-old SS Russell Sharp and 18-year-old minor league RHP Hatitosa Sandipan to the Omaha Cyclones for 36-year-old 1B Mark Simpson and 19-year-old minor league 3B Pedro Hernández. The Surfers GM told reporters, "We saw a chance to upgrade our ball club and took it." For the year Sharp has hit .229 with 6 home runs, 13 RBIs and scored 14 runs. Simpson is batting .183 this year with 10 home runs, 17 RBIs and 36 runs scored. He has 31 hits in 169 at-bats. |   |
