Now that he has reached the 2000-hit threshold, that's all but guaranteed. Ramírez collected his big hit in a 12-5 loss to Twin Cities.
Afterward, he thought about the achievement: "Overwhelmed," he said. "That's how I feel about it right now."
Ramírez went 2-for-4 for the game.
In his 1970-game career Ramírez has hit .278 with 2000 hits, 16 home runs, and 575 RBIs and has scored 865 runs.
