Riding the 2-hit performance of the fan favorite Reggie Vargas, the Omaha Cyclones stopped the Des Moines Kernels, 10-1. The win puts Omaha at 70-67 this season.

In the top of the first, Vargas pounced on a 1-2 fastball from Dave Lachance and hit a 3-run home run. It put Omaha on top, 3-0.

"The Cyclones definitely had our number," said Des Moines manager Mel Jenkins.
