Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Stars
Valencia and Sacramento duked it out and the Stars came out victorious.

The Valencia Stars dealt the Sacramento Mad Popes a 6-3 loss at The Basilica at Muskrat Slough. Carlos Schumann, who is tied for 4th in the FL in triples with 8, was the star on offense. He was 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Tomás Franco claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.2 innings. His record stands at 1-3. Eduardo Moreno closed the door for Valencia, picking up his 13th save of the year.

Valencia used the hitting of Tim Bartlett to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Stars on top, 5-3. For the game, Bartlett had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
