Mounties Best Stars, 1-0
|
The Vancouver Mounties did just enough to secure a victory over the Valencia Stars, 1-0, at Northwoods Outpost. Nobody did more than pitcher Steve Warren. The Mounties saw their win-loss record go to 70-64. At the same time, the Stars fell to 65-69.
Thomas Kramer, not known for his power, had a big at-bat with no one out in the bottom of the sixth. That's when he connected on a fastball from Reynold Voermans for a solo home run. His 11th home run of the season put Vancouver in front, 1-0.
"We'll put that win in the can," said Kramer, "and go after the next one."
