Mounties Stick Mad Popes with 2-1 Loss
In a well-pitched game between the Vancouver Mounties and the Sacramento Mad Popes, pitcher Steve Warren was fantastic. The Vancouver left-hander helped his team secure the win, 2-1. The Mounties raised their record to 67-62.

The Mad Popes had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Mounties going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 23-year old second baseman Reynaldo Serrano came to the plate. Serrano hit a solo home run on a first pitch slider from Sacramento hurler Joe King. It was Serrano's 15th home run of the year.

"The old adage is true," said Serrano. "Good pitching stops good hitting."
