The first-place Sacramento Mad Popes picked up another win.

The Sacramento Mad Popes defeated the Valencia Stars, 4-1, in Frick League action at The Basilica at Muskrat Slough. Sacramento pitcher Thomas Turner had a standout performance. The win elevated the Mad Popes to 78-47.

The Mad Popes got an important contribution from shortstop Badr Isam, who in the bottom of the third punched a 1-0 cutter into left-center for a 2-run triple. It was his 3rd triple of the season and put the Mad Popes ahead, 4-0.

"Thomas was pounding the zone," said Sacramento manager Fernando Pacheco.
