The 3-hit performance of Kyle Beers helped the Chicago Black Sox beat the Valencia Stars, 4-2. Mike Baker sewed up the save, his 2nd. At 22-31, the Black Sox claim 6th place in the Frick League Heartland Division.
Timofei Gadomsky, who is tied for 8th in the FL in hits with 62, took Valencia hurler Luis González deep in the bottom of the first. His 2-run home run put the Black Sox on top, 2-0. In all, Gadomsky had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 3.
"I like what I saw today," said Chicago manager Rocky Wattson, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
