San Fernando and Sacramento got after it at The Basilica at Muskrat Slough.

The San Fernando Bears faced a tough opponent in Sacramento pitcher Lance Harrison, but did just enough to pull out the victory at The Basilica at Muskrat Slough by a final score of 5-2. Harrison went 7 innings and allowed 1 run. The Bears move to 22-18 with the win, while the Mad Popes drop to 24-16.

San Fernando got the win thanks to a clutch hit from Jeffrey Smith. The left fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Bears ahead, 5-2. Though it was his only hit in 1 at-bat, it had a major impact on the outcome.

"If we play well, we'll win our share of games," said Smith. "The only team that can beat us is us."
