Kazantziakis Delivers Walk-Off Win for Crawdads
|
The New Orleans Crawdads and Rockville Pikemen obliged fans hoping for an exciting game.
Rockville catcher John McMuttray had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 6-5, to New Orleans at The Commanders Palace. McMuttray went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. New Orleans reliever Jason Nelson was credited with the win, to go to 2-1. David Wade took the loss for Rockville.
The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With New Orleans trailing 5-4, Zenobius Kazantziakis hit a sinker from Earl Cox to center for a 2-run single. Just like that, the Crawdads had a walk-off win.
Kazantziakis said this kind of win gives the team "a buzz."
The Pikemen, at 14-26, have lost 4 in a row.
