Mounties Sneak By Bears, 2-1
|
The Vancouver Mounties had to overcome a fine performance from San Fernando pitcher Arnold Cantrell to grab a 2-1 win at Northwoods Outpost. Cantrell allowed 2 runs over 8 innings. Vancouver has 3 straight wins, San Fernando 3 straight losses.
Tony Frost was the walk-off hero for Vancouver. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Mounties third baseman hit a dramatic solo home run to send the teams home.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said San Fernando manager Necco Starr.
