San Fernando Bears starter Doug Pomeroy turned in a sterling performance against the Brook Park Brownies, leading his team to a slim, 3-2 win. The winning pitcher was Pomeroy, now 5-0. He tossed 7 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 5. Augusto González closed the game out for San Fernando, earning his 1st save.

The Bears got a big at-bat from first baseman Aggur Lugono. For the game, Lugono went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 5th home run of the season gave San Fernando a 3-0 lead.

"Doug knows how to get ahead of hitters, stay ahead of hitters, and put people out," said San Fernando manager Joel Crawford.

The second-place Bears bumped their record to 22-13.
