The Madison Wolves took Des Moines pitcher Tommy Akers's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Edward Murphy Memorial Stadium. The final score had Madison getting past the Kernels, 3-2. Akers went 7 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 5. Madison is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 6th in 15 games.

Madison used a clutch hit from Pedro Rocha to get the win. The first baseman drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Wolves ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

Rocha told a Madison Today reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
