González Hits 2 home runs in Blazers Win
|
Opening day festivities have begun throughout the league. Fans of the Montreal Blazers were eager to watch Kinzo Iwamoto square off against Ollie Lowry of the visiting Brooklyn Robins. In the end, the Blazers won the game, 8-3, with Eduardo González leading the way. Kinzo Iwamoto earned the win to go to 1-0. He allowed 3 runs on 5 hits, with 1 walk and 2 strikeouts in 5 innings of work.
The Blazers got a big at-bat from catcher Calvin Johnson. For the game, Johnson went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Montreal a 4-3 lead.
