Though he had a terrific game, Yuu Suzuki could not prevent his team, the San Fernando Bears, from absorbing a loss. Hawaii won the game, 8-5. Suzuki was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs. Hawaii goes to 7-5.
Hawaii used a clutch hit from Frank McMillan to get the win. The catcher drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Tropics ahead, 8-5. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a doozy.
"The name of the game is scoring runs," McMillan said. "We did a good job of that today."
