Valencia pitcher Bhadrasila Chetlapalli did his part in helping his team defeat the Long Beach Surfers, 6-1. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. Dave Furman earned his 32nd save, after closing out the game. Valencia now sports a record of 56-61.

Gabriel Bacaloglu had a big 2-run home run for the Stars in the bottom of the first inning. With Valencia leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a sinker from 26-year old right-handed pitcher Erasmus Gianakopulos and swatted a home run to right. It was his 28th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Stars ahead, 3-0.

"I just kind of blacked out and executed my pitches," said Chetlapalli.
