The Boise Spuds picked up a win at F. Nephi Grigg Memorial Stadium, taking down the San Antonio Outlaws, 6-3. Starting pitcher Matt McCartney was a big reason why. Mario Santos earned the save, his 14th. After today's action, Boise sits at 58-56, while San Antonio falls to 54-60.

McCartney's performance can only be described as masterful. He notched 7 strikeouts in 8 innings while allowing 3 hits. McCartney, who finished 3rd in the FL in ERA with 2.58 in 2047, goes to 3-4 on the year with 31 strikeouts.

"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said McCartney.
