Ploid Shines in 6-5 Sacramento Win
|
The Des Moines Kernels and Sacramento Mad Popes provided some drama for the home crowd.
Unem Ploid was a vital contributor to the 6-5 Sacramento victory over Des Moines. The Mad Popes first baseman was 4 for 4 with 2 home runs, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. The Mad Popes, at 62-34, have now won 4 straight.
One of the clutch hits for Sacramento came from one of their biggest talents. In the top of the seventh with one out, Yuu Suzuki, who is tied for 3rd in the FL in RBI with 70, hit a 2-run single to put the Mad Popes up, 6-2. For the game, the designated hitter went 2 for 5 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI.
