The Omaha Cyclones picked up a win at Mordonez Ballpark, knocking off the Hawaii Tropics, 6-4. On the mound for Omaha was right-hander Takashi Nakamura, who played a pivotal role in the win. Dave Ferrell got the save, the 28th for him this season. The Tropics, at 50-44, have lost 4 straight games.
Omaha grabbed control in the bottom of the sixth. With no one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Luis Mendoza delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 2-1 in favor of the Cyclones.
"Takashi just went about his business, throwing strikes," said Omaha manager Julián Negrete.
