Black Sox Suffer 4-3 Road Loss
|
Omaha pitcher Sam Landry had a large part in his team beating the Chicago Black Sox, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Landry picked up the win for Omaha, going 5 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 12-11. With the win, the Cyclones have a record of 84-78.
Stan Lodge, who is tied for 10th in the FL in stolen bases with 40, took Chicago hurler Azim bin Ghalib deep in the bottom of the fifth. His 2-run home run put the Cyclones on top, 3-2. In all, Lodge had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"The only difference is executing pitches and not executing pitches," said Landry. "When you don't execute, you get beat. When you execute, you usually give your team a chance to win."
