Robert Wilson never let the Black Sox get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Cyclones to a win, 5-1. In 6.1 innings, Wilson surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 4. He allowed 1 run. Picking up the save was Dave Ferrell. He's now 40 for 43 in save chances.

The Cyclones got a lift from designated hitter Reggie Vargas, who in the bottom of the second stroked a full count fastball into center for a 2-run single. It was his 160th hit of the season and put the Cyclones ahead, 5-0.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Omaha manager Julián Negrete.

Omaha raised its record to 78-72 with the win.
