Stars Come Up Short at Omaha, 3-2
Omaha Cyclones starter Oscar O'Halloran turned in a top-notch performance against the Valencia Stars at Mordonez Ballpark. The result was a win for the Cyclones, 3-2. Jin-guo Huang, 1-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. Dave Ferrell sewed up the save, his 23rd.

Omaha took a 3-1 lead on Reggie Vargas's 18th home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Valencia pitcher Chung Chan in the bottom of the seventh.

"Bottom line," said Valencia skipper Markus O'Byrne, "we didn't play well enough to win."

With the win, Omaha raised its record to 43-31.
