Royals Suffer 7-4 Loss to Giants
|
Behind the hitting of Theo Fairlamb, the San Francisco Giants stopped the Kansas City Royals, 7-4. Fairlamb went 2-3 with a home run, while scoring 2 times for the Giants. Mike Carter earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.1 innings. He upped his record to 1-2. After today's action, San Francisco sits at 25-24, while Kansas City falls to 22-28.
San Francisco took a 5-4 lead on Michel Renaux's 5th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Renaux hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Kansas City pitcher Mike Denov shaking his head.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Renaux told the San Francisco Times. "It's as simple as that."
