Ness Twirls No-Hitter Against Memphis Wednesday, August 28th , 2137 The Lakewood Blue Claws had a lot to celebrate today as 23-year-old hurler Tony Ness no-hit the Memphis Seahawks at First Energy Park today. In an impressive outing that keyed the Blue Claws to a 2-0 victory, Ness had 10 strikeouts and surrendered 2 walks. "He mixed his pitches well and hit his spots, plus he got a little help from above," said Lakewood manager . "Tony really took it to another level today." This season Ness has crafted a 9-2 mark with a 2.57 ERA in 77 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .219 against him and he has 99 strikeouts. |
