Round 1 Goes the Distance, Bluefield Prevails

The Bluefield Blue Jays and Lake County Captains held nothing back in an entertaining Round 1 that went the distance.
In the end, it will be Bluefield advancing to the Round 2, after a 4-3 triumph in the final game at Bowen Field, to wrap up the series 4-3.
The Blue Jays players celebrated jubilantly in their clubhouse after the game, while the scene was one of dismay on the opposing side for the Captains.
Leon Glas was named series MVP for Bluefield. For the series, Glas hit .419 with a .455 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 3 RBI and scored 2 runs.
The Bluefield Blue Jays will play against the Quad Cities River Bandits in the next round. Quad Cities won their series against the Port Charlotte Rays 4 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
