Riverdogs Dominate, Sweep Round 1 Sunday, September 17th, 2124 The Charleston Riverdogs proved to be too much to handle for the West Michigan White Caps in the Round 1, and a sweep was the end result. Charleston punched its ticket to the Round 2 on the strength of a 6-3 win in the deciding game, which wrapped up the series 2-0. Charleston first baseman Júlio Manuel, named series MVP, was instrumental in the sweep, as he mashed West Michigan pitching to the tune of a .429 average, with a .556 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 2 runs. The Charleston Riverdogs will play against the Kannapolis Intimidators in the next round. Kannapolis had a bye in the Round 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes. |
