Young Star Helps Propel Eastern Division to Win in Midseason Classic Tuesday, June 17th , 2160 Carlos Pérez shined brightly tonight against the best talent that the ABL has to offer. The all-star was named MVP for the annual mid-season showcase held at Banner Island Ballpark, as his Eastern Division All-Stars downed the Western Division All-Stars by a count of 4-3. "It's humbling to even play in a game like this with legends of the sport all around you," he said. Pérez went 2 for 2 to capture the honor. In his career, Pérez has played in 252 games with a .293 batting average. Among his 271 hits are 47 doubles, 16 triples and 35 home runs. He has also scored 165 runs and driven in 139 runs.
