Carl Good of the Indianapolis Purple Aces was on top of his game.

The 25-year-old tantalized the Fort Wayne TinCaps with crisp curves and changeups, mixed in with just enough fastballs to keep the batters honest, shutting them out, 1-0.

"He had the changeup working," Fort Wayne manager said in postgame comments. "You knew it was coming and you still grounded out -- and then he threw it even slower."

The Indianapolis hurler had 3 strikeouts, gave up no walks and surrendered 3 hits in his complete-game effort.

Good told reporters after the game that "keeping the ball down is the key to being successful in this league."

"If you don't do that, they'll make you pay," he said.

This season, Good has worked 135.1 innings with 118 strikeouts en route to a 11-6 record and a 2.66 ERA.
