Catron Shuts Down Sea Dogs, 1-0
|
Ronald Catron subdued the Portland Sea Dogs, 1-0, pitching a 2-hit gem for the Altoona Curve at Blair County Ballpark.
"He was kind of teasing them with his off-speed stuff, and his fastball was moving everywhere," Altoona skipper said afterward.
Catron registered 7 strikeouts and issued no walks in his superb performance.
"We just didn't swing the bats very well. Or else he just pitched good, whichever way you want to look at it," said Portland manager after the defeat.
Catron has started 10 times this year, pitched 72.2 innings, fanned 61 batters and walked 11. His current record is 5 wins and 4 losses with a 2.85 ERA.
