García Torches Tides for 5 Hits
After his 5-hit effort at Toros Ballpark was tarnished by Fresno's 12-11 loss to the Norfolk Tides, right fielder Carlos García told BNN beat writers it was "a missed opportunity for a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "I would have been happy to stop there if it meant we got a win."

He didn't get the win, but the 32-year-old had a spectacular 5-for-6 game against the Tides.

"His swing is getting there," said Toros skipper after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Carlos did that to perfection and we wasted it."

Carlos García singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and grounded out in the 10th.

So far in 2172 García is batting .400 with no home runs, 2 RBIs and 3 runs scored. He has 8 hits in 20 at-bats and a .500 OBP.
