Toronto 5-1 Victors at Fenway Park
|
Michael Shanan never let Boston get something going. The Toronto right-hander commanded his sinker in pitching the Blue Jays to a 5-1 win. Shanan, now 4-2, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 6, walking 4, and allowing 1 run. The triumph makes Toronto 14-29.
In the top of the sixth, the Blue Jays took the lead, 3-1, when 30-year old shortstop Fernando Garza hit a sacrifice fly.
"Michael was hitting his spots and everything had life," said Toronto manager Kyle Lamb.
