Baltwin de Clerq said he expected the Round 2 to be "a battle from start to finish."

In the end, it was nothing more than a minor skirmish, as the West Michigan White Caps encountered little resistance in sweeping the Daytona Cubs, to advance to the Round 3.

"It may have been a sweep, but it still was a tough series," said de Clerq.

West Michigan won the final game by a 12-11 count and were led in the series by de Clerq, who was named MVP. On the series, he hit .615 with 0 home runs. He also drove in 3 RBI and scored 6 runs.

The West Michigan White Caps don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Beloit Snappers - Clearwater Threshers series. Clearwater leads the series 2 games to 1. The Round 3 schedule will be announced after the Round 2 finishes.
