Arizona Rangers Win Round 2
|
The Arizona Rangers ignited a huge celebration as they beat the Lakewood Blue Claws 9-0 to win the Round 2.
Arizona won the series 4-3, capturing the title for the 23rd time.
"We stepped it up at the right time, and now we're the champs," said Arizona manager . "It's a great feeling."
The champs finished the regular season 38-19 and claimed first place in the East.
In the jubilant clubhouse after the decisive game, series MVP and shortstop Paul Evans said the Rangers have "great fans and they deserve this."
"I am so happy for our city right now," he said.
