Gies Hit Streak Over Sunday, April 4th , 2060 Emílio Gies's 22-game hitting streak was snapped at Madras College Grounds. The 18-year-old Nagoya College Tasmanian Devils center fielder failed to get a hit in 5 at-bats in the game against the Madras College Salmon Kings, but Nagoya College came out the winner, 5-4. "I don't think the streak was ever a big deal to Emílio," Tasmanian Devils manager Agnidhra Sajan said after the game. "He ain't that type of guy. He just wants to help the team win ballgames." At present, Gies is batting .380 with 52 hits and 13 home runs. He has knocked in 36 runs and scored 30 times. |
