Chippers Clinch Wild Card Thursday, August 15th , 2058 The Changchun Chippers have thrilled their fan base by securing a late-season wild card berth. The team's playoff future was certainly not a foregone conclusion, as the Chippers battled to find a place in the postseason. "We never lost faith, I think that's key," said starting pitcher Vern Kline. "Even when things got rough, people in our clubhouse believed we were going to win." With their record sitting at 50-17, the Chippers will try to build on their success to win the 1st Chinese Baseball League championship in team history. |
