Asuncion Tops Santa Cruz Friday, September 23rd , 2050 The Asuncion Banditos pulled out all the stops tonight, winning the Round 2 in a hard-fought series with the Santa Cruz Serpientes. It was a seesaw affair, but with a 6-4 victory at Santa Cruz Fields, Asuncion lay claim to the franchise's 8th championship. "There's no denying we faced a tough opponent," said Ian Willets. "But as the old saying goes, 'when the going gets tough, the tough get going,' and that's what we did today." The champs finished the regular season 85-55 and claimed second place in the SABL.
