Gonzáles Stretches Hit String to 34
Monday, August 15th, 2044
The Montevideo Leones may have proven to be mere mortals today as they lost 4-3 to the Bogota Caballeros Blancos, but Armando Gonzáles continued to hit like a god.

The first baseman collected 2 hits in 4 at-bats in the loss and extended his hitting streak to 34 games.

"Gonzáles is playing great and is on fire right now," Leones manager Todd Kilger said. "Hopefully his play can spark the rest of our team and help us pick up some wins."

Gonzáles was apparently not happy with the game and when pressed by reporters in the locker room only said "nothing else matters but the loss."
Armando Gonzáles hit an RBI single in the 1st, flied out in the 4th, singled in the 5th and grounded out in the 8th.

Gonzáles is hitting .347 this year with 3 home runs and 32 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .407, 26 walks and scored 45 times.
