Brewer Torches Checkers for 5 Hits Wednesday, February 13th , 2058 Mike Brewer really sizzled at the plate in today's 14-3 win over Checkers. The Guam center fielder blistered Koror for 5 hits in 6 at-bats. "Brewer was too tough to get out today," the Checkers skipper said in the postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too." Mike Brewer singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run double in the 5th, struck out in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
