Ponipake Goes Yard 3 Times Tuesday, January 29th , 2058 Fans are still buzzing after Weno whipped the Melbourne Ports by the score of 8-6 today at São Paulo HS Grounds. Augutino Ponipake smashed three home runs in the contest, a feat that would be a career highlight for most players and few fans ever see. In a tremendous performance, the first baseman bashed out 3 hits in 3 at-bats, had 5 RBIs and scored 3 times. At the postgame press conference, Ponipake said it was an "unbelievable" feeling to hit three home runs in a game. "Getting one homer is special, and two is great," Ponipake said. "Three is just... wow." Augutino Ponipake hit a solo-shot off Robert Bruce in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Aaron Arnott in the 5th and hit a two-run home run off Quentin Culaham in the 7th. Ponipake's current batting average stands at .330 and he has chalked up 13 home runs and 34 RBIs. |
