Sun Kings NiniManu Booms 3 HRs Monday, January 28th , 2058 Tarawa Sun Kings center fielder Walenekino NiniManu slugged three home runs against the Auckland Warriors at Warriors Field, but couldn't win the game all by himself. The Warriors spoiled his day by defeating the Sun Kings, 8-7. "The loss puts a damper on the outstanding game Walenekino had, but people will be buzzing about this for days to come," Tarawa manager Rory Nerney. "That's gotta be some consolation to him. But knowing Walenekino, he would have preferred a win." For the game, NiniManu was 3-for-5 with 7 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "The first two I got all of them and it was no doubt they were gone," NiniManu said later. "It seemed like the wind helped it a little on that last one. I just wish Mother Nature had helped us win the game, too." Walenekino NiniManu hit a two-run home run off Alexander Laing in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Alexander Laing in the 3rd, struck out in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Cain Geoghegan in the 7th and struck out in the 9th. So far this season NiniManu has 4 home runs and a .147 batting average. |
