Shanghai Wins it All Thursday, September 22nd , 2050 Sometimes the winner is the one who got the lucky bounces and the lucky calls, and sometimes the winner is just the one who played better. It was the latter case in 2050, as the Shanghai Catbirds topped the South Guam Saints 10-3 tonight at The Nest to win the Round 1. It was the 2nd title in franchise history. "When you play for championships, you have to play better than the team in the other dugout. We did that in this series, and all year. Now we're the best team in baseball," said Shanghai right fielder Musa bin Samir, who was named series MVP. The Catbirds took the series 4-2. The new titleholders completed the regular season with a first-place finish in the FEBL and a 97-43 record. Shanghai manager César Caraballo grinned and nodded when asked to comment on bin Samir's words. "Musa said it best -- we played better than the other team," the skipper said.
