Reyes Too Tough, Blanks Mogadishu
Sunday, August 18th , 2058
All went well for Javier Reyes of the Lagos Wreckers as he pitched his team to a 6-0 shutout victory over the Mogadishu Ports, limiting them to 4 hits. In the postgame interview, both managers had glowing things to say about Reyes on the day.
"Javier's got a good selection of pitches he can throw at a guy," said Wreckers manager Javier Zaragoza. "He changes speed, gives different looks to different hitters. When he's on his game, he's quite a handful."
In the contest, the Lagos right-hander rang up 10 and surrendered 2 walks.
"He didn't give us any second chances," said Ports manager Manuel Sánchez. "It's a guessing game with him and today we were always guessing wrong."
In 14 starts this season, Reyes has recorded 7 wins and absorbed 7 losses. He has pitched 129.1 innings, allowed 110 hits, struck out 105 and has a 3.34 ERA.
