| Strained PCL Shelves Gimsing for Next 3 Weeks Sunday, August 12th, 2046 What was originally thought to be a minor injury has turned into a major headache for Steffan Gimsing and the Athens. Gimsing suffered the injury while out for a morning run. "All I felt at the time was a little pull and some soreness," said the Athens reliever. "Then it gradually became more painful." An MRI revealed that Gimsing has a strained posterior cruciate ligament, which will keep him out of action for about 3 weeks. "We'll just have to make do without him and hope he's back with the team soon," said manager Daud Qadir. Asked if the team is exploring replacement options for Gimsing, Qadir said, "We'll re-evaluate the situation in 3 weeks, but I really doubt we'll need to worry past that point." | |
