20-Game Hitting Streak for Miranda
Friday, February 4th , 2056
With 2 hits at Havana Park today, Juan Miranda added another game to his hitting streak -- the Central America right fielder has now hit safely for 20 games in a row. But the hitting feat wasn't enough for the Conquistadors today, as they fell, 6-5, to the Caribbean Sunbirds.
"Frankly, I don't care about hits," Caribbean manager Robert Morris said later. "I'll let him get 5 hits in 5 at-bats if it means we get a win." Juan Miranda struck out in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, struck out in the 8th and hit a solo-shot off Luis Aguilar in the 9th.
Thus far this season in 33 games Miranda is batting .375 with 9 home runs, 29 RBIs and 34 runs scored. He has 48 hits in 128 at-bats.
