Mak Blasts 3 out of the Park Monday, February 3rd , 2053 Guo-xiu Mak was in a home run mode today at Samurai Field. The Beijing right fielder massacred Samurai pitching, cracking out three home runs and going 3-for-3 with 3 RBIs and scoring 3 runs. But this sensational performance didn't really matter. Tokyo won the ballgame 8-5 despite the three homers. "I wish a big 'W' had come with this," he said. "It's great to hit three homers, but the bottom line is whether you win or lose." Nonetheless, Mak will now have a place in the league record book. "I guess when you're hot, you're hot," he said. "I'm not going up there trying to hit home runs. I put the good part of the bat on it and luckily three of them went out today." Guo-xiu Mak hit a solo-shot off Hakem Ayoob in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Hakem Ayoob in the 3rd, walked in the 5th and hit a solo-shot off Osman Yazdani in the 7th. Thus far this season in 16 games Mak is batting .410 with 6 home runs, 12 RBIs and 11 runs scored. He has 16 hits in 39 at-bats. |
