López Gone for Season in Brussels

Brussels closer Pancho López suffered a season-ending injury throwing a pitch in today's game against the Highlanders. According to club doctors López has a torn rotator cuff. Although López has declined to comment, sources close to the player have stated that he is "devastated" that he will miss the playoffs.

Looking at his pitching stats so far this season, López has 6 relief appearances, pitched 5.2 innings and fashioned a 1-0 record with a 0.00 ERA. He has recorded 3 saves, struck out 8 and allowed opposing clubs to hit .304 when he is on the hill.
