Hitting Streak Still Alive for Díaz Thursday, July 4th , 2058 Win or lose, Mauro Díaz just keeps on getting base hits -- game after game after game. He picked up 2 more today and has now stretched his hitting streak to 20 games. The Santo Domingo Sea Turtles third baseman went 2-for-4 today, but it wasn't enough to win the game. His club was defeated 10-9 by the Nassau Jammers at Scouts Field. "It's amazing to watch him hit right now, but I don't think anybody's really mentioning it," one of his teammates said. "We just don't want to jinx him." Mauro Díaz singled in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, hit a sac fly in the 4th, grounded out in the 7th and singled in the 8th. Díaz is hitting .405 this year with 3 home runs and 15 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .456, 10 walks and scored 20 times. |
