Martínez Bashes 5 Base Hits Wednesday, June 19th , 2058 Manuel Martínez exploded for a barrage of base hits today at All Saints Field. The Caracas second baseman had a field day in the 15-1 triumph over the All Saints Blue Claws, finishing 5-for-7. "My hitting philosophy is simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch." Martínez must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too, leading to one of his best days ever with the bat. Manuel Martínez singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, struck out in the 5th, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and struck out in the 9th.
