Royales End Germán's Streak Monday, August 7th , 2056 José Germán, second baseman for the Saint Johns Water Wolves, gave it a good try, but his time chasing history came to an end when he went hitless in 3 tries against the Port of Spain Royales today. Not only did the Royales break his 26-game hitting streak, they also beat Saint Johns by the score of 5-4. "Now that the streak has ended, I can admit I'll breathe a bit easier the next time I step up to bat," Germán said, speaking with the media after the game. "It was tough because I put a little pressure on myself. Now that it's over, I will definitely be a little bit looser at the plate." Thus far this year Germán is hitting .400 with no home runs, 14 RBIs and 19 runs scored. |
